What are Sentiment and Framing?

Sentiment ships as a per-window triple. Framing is not a metric this API emits — read the stored answers to assess it.

Sentiment is whether a brand is described positively, neutrally or negatively. Senso returns it as a triple of counts per window, so you can see the mix rather than a single averaged score that hides it.

Framing is a different question: what role the brand is cast in — market leader, budget alternative, outdated option, niche specialist — or a miscategorization outright, such as a family film described as a violent thriller.

The IAB notes sentiment classification is least reliable on nuanced and comparative language, and that neutral descriptive wording dominates in recommendation queries. Read sentiment next to the answers themselves before acting on a move in it.
