What is Position, and how does Senso measure it?

Position is the IAB’s Prominence metric: where a brand appears in the answer as a user sees it — first or fifth, a standalone recommendation or one of a list, and how far into the response the mention falls.

Senso reports the ordinal form as avg_rank: the mean position of your brand across the answers that mentioned it, where 1 means named first and lower is better. It is null when you were never mentioned, which is not the same as ranking last.

The IAB notes there is no universal method for narrative answers where nothing is enumerated, and asks providers to disclose how they operationalize it. rank_sum ships alongside mentioned_count so you can recombine windows and audit the average.
